FINAL REPORT

Summary

The alternative structural systems investigated for the application within the West Rosslyn - West tower are a partially prestressed slab as well as post-tensioned shear walls.  The partially prestressed slab accounts for strength and serviceability limit states utilizing a combination of post-tensioned tendons and mild steel reinforcement while allowing cracks to a certain width.  The post-tensioned shear walls allow for a reduction of cross sectional area and an uncracked section analysis by eliminating tensile forces within the wall by the additional post-tensioned force.
