About Me

Clayton Thornton is a 5th year student within the Architectural Engineering program at The Pennsylvania State University.  He will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master degree of Architectural Engineering with a structural focus as well as a Minor of Architectural Studies in August 2019.  Clayton participates in various university organizations such as The Student Society of Architectural Engineers (SSAE), Structural Engineering Association (SEA) and The Blue and White Society.

Mr. Thornton has spent two summers of his academic career within an integrated architectural engineering firm, Wiley Wilson Inc. and a structural design consultant firm, Ehlert Bryan Consulting Structural Engineers.  During these experiences, he has participated in various aspects of the construction process from successful coordination practices to in-depth design procedures as well as furthering his understanding of several structural engineering software’s and construction types.  He has also spent a considerable amount of time on-site, aiding in construction while working for a masonry company, Matthews and Pierce Masonry Inc. for several years.

In addition to furthering his understanding of structural engineering academically at The Pennsylvania State University and professionally, Mr. Thornton spent a summer in Rome as a part of a study abroad program focusing on ancient architecture.
